For the launch of Microsoft Teams, NA was challenged to develop a new approach for their live-streamed launch event. Instead of traditional theater-style keynote presentations, we recommended that Microsoft opt for a meeting in the round. We felt strongly that placing keynote speakers in the middle of a ring of viewers was the best format to host a small to mid-size presentation for several reasons. From our experience, making this seemingly minor adjustment fully changes the setting from a formal lecture to a casual conversation. This allowed for a more engaged in-person audience that was more comfortable and had better sight lines. It also made the online viewers feel like they were sitting in the front row, in the middle of the conversation. Overall, it was important that the space felt warm and inviting, we utilized birch wood in both raw and painted forms as well as cool greys, matte white laminates and layered colored rugs to anchor the space with pops of color.

It's rare to see new agencies navigate, partner and excel within the massive Microsoft orbit but your team did it like grizzled veterans and you made a lot of fans along the way.

It was imperative that every piece of scenic furniture be positioned appropriately to allow for the best camera and viewing position. The purpose of the event was to ensure that not only the 40 in person guests were engaged but also the thousands of audience members watching from home. To ensure the online-viewers were part of the experience, we designed the set to be shot from 3 stationary and 1 mobile camera positions that could alternate between wide and close-up shots of the various presenters. Throughout the event we transitioned from a single speaker, to multiple speakers in a panel type setting to product demos and more.
